COVID-19 Update

Corangamite Clinic doctors are available to attend all your medical concerns throughout this time.  We have a well resourced local and State Health Service and we are prepared to respond to this evolving situation.  Please be reassured that we are doing everything we can to help you, your family and our community.

Please help us keep our clinic a safe place. If you have a runny nose, sore throat, cough or fever, please ring our friendly reception team from your home or from your car.  If you have a pre-existing appointment at our clinic and you have developed a runny nose, sore throat or cough in the meantime, please ring us.  We will still arrange for you to be seen by our doctors.   You may be eligible for a bulk billed phone consultation, or attendance at Our Fever Clinic or your appointment can be rescheduled.

Care for our patients over 70 years old: if you or a family member is a regular patient of our clinic and over 70 years old, please ring our receptionists.  If you would like, we can arrange for your doctor to provide phone consultation.  During this phone consultation, your doctor can discuss with you whether you should attend our clinic in person.

Nursing Home Visits: Doctors at our clinic attend regular rounds at the three local nursing homes.  Our doctors also provide an on-call service for nursing home residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Wherever possible, our doctors will provide bulk-billed phone consultations for our nursing home patients, to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission.  If you or a family member is a nursing home resident and a patient of Corangamite Clinic, please discuss with the duty nurse at the nursing home, or with our reception team at Corangamite Clinic, for further information.

Antenatal appointments:  It is really important that you attend all your routine antenatal appointments.  Our doctors and midwives need to examine you in person to make sure you and your baby are healthy. However, if you have a runny nose, sore throat, cough or fever on the day of your appointment, please ring us prior to attending.  You are eligible for a bulk billed phone consultation.  Or, we can reschedule your appointment. If you have concerns outside of your routine appointments and need to see a doctor, please ring us.  One of our obstetric GP s or our midwife will provide phone consultation, and then we’ll let you know if you need to come in to see us in person.

Childhood immunisations: It is now even more important to make sure that your child is up to date with their routine immunisations.  Our doctors and nurses can help you and your family.  As well as routine immunisations, we can give you advice about influenza immunisation for you and your child.  However, if you have an appointment for immunisations and you and your child have developed a runny nose, sore throat, cough or fever in the meantime, please ring us prior to attending.  We can reschedule your appointment.

Diabetes & Respiratory Nurse Educator Appointments: It is more important than ever to attend your routine Diabetes and Respiratory Nurse Educator appointments and make sure you’re as healthy as you can be.  However, if you have a runny nose, sore throat, cough or fever on the day of your appointment, please ring us prior to attending.  You may be eligible for a bulk billed phone consultation.  Or, we can reschedule your appointment.

Flu vaccinations for patients >65yo: Flu vaccination for patients 65 years and older are available. Please contact our reception staff to make an appointment.

Flu vaccinations for children <5yo: we will let you know when these become available.

Other routine services – Please ring the clinic to arrange an appointment to be seen by our doctors for any medical concern.  Please reserve “on the day” appointments for urgent problems.
